🚨 Recognizing the Warning Signs of a Medical Emergency: Every Second Matters

At Saving Grace First Aid/CPR/AED, we believe that knowing what to look for during a medical emergency can make the difference between life and death.
Medical emergencies can happen anywhere—to a loved one at home, a coworker at work, a customer in a business, or a stranger in the community. The first step toward helping is recognizing that something is wrong and knowing when to act.
Why Recognizing Warning Signs Matters
Many serious medical emergencies begin with warning signs that may seem minor at first. Someone may suddenly feel weak, have trouble breathing, experience chest discomfort, become confused, or simply say, “Something isn’t right.”
Taking these symptoms seriously can help get emergency medical care started sooner. Early recognition, calling 911, and providing appropriate first aid or CPR when needed can greatly improve the chances of a better outcome.
🚨 Warning Signs You Should Never Ignore
❤️ Heart Attack
Possible warning signs include:
* Chest pressure, squeezing, fullness, or discomfort
* Pain or discomfort spreading to the arm, back, neck, jaw, or stomach
* Shortness of breath
* Cold sweat
* Nausea or vomiting
* Unusual tiredness or weakness
* Lightheadedness
Heart attacks do not always look like they do in the movies. Symptoms can vary, and some people—especially women and older adults—may experience less typical symptoms.
